In response to the incident in Florida with the teenage girls beating another girl, I think it is a little extreme to blame the media. Although I agree that things like MySpace could be dangerous for immature teenagers like these girls in the video. However, I think that these girls are completely responsible for the acts they committed. Some articles stated that the victim said bad things about the girls on her MySpace. I believe that if the girl wanted “gossip” badly enough she could have found another outlet if MySpace wasn’t present. If not sites like these on the internet, then it would be through some other outlet. No matter the time, there will always be something to blame other than the actual people who committed a wrongful act. We can blame video games, bad languaged music, movies, tv, and the internet for anything in society today. I understand that the parents of these kids don’t want to believe that their child is capable of something like this, but, its time to face reality.
